Our members tell us their experiences of using a Thing that they have borrowed from the Library.
Story one here
Story two - ‘Myself and my teenage daughter used the ice cream maker at the end of July. It was a really fun project to get involved in together albeit costly on the purse and the waistline. We made vanilla, mint chocolate chip and lemon sorbet.’ (Abbie)
Story three - ‘The Library of Things is amazing! Such a useful service. I borrowed a heat gun in order to strip some paint - with some success, apart from burning a hole in my trousers. Everyone very helpful and the online reservation system seems to work well. Have recommended the Library to all my friends.’ (Anne)
Story four - We think you are great! We borrowed your family tent in August to give our daughter, Tilly the opportunity to go camping for her very first time. We were considering buying a tent when you opened your doors back in July. I quickly tested out your service, initially borrowing the smaller 3 person tent, air beds and camping chairs and we camped in our garden. This went very well indeed. The service that we got from Tony and the other volunteers was just great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Our daughter loved the whole experience, so we decided to book ourselves into a couple of camping sites for a ‘real’ trip in August. This is when we borrowed the much bigger family tent. The tent was perfect for our needs and we had an unforgettable road trip, up to John o‘ Groats and back! Your service gave us the opportunity to try out camping with our daughter, who has mobility and learning difficulties without having to pay out a lot of money for what might have been a one trip wonder. Thankfully it wasn’t and we are all looking forward to another camping adventure next year. (Tracey)
